Kings named campaign co-chairs
Wanda and Michael King of Prince Frederick have been named co-chairs of the CMH Capital Campaign. “We’re proud to take a leadership role,” said Mr. King in a recent interview. “We strongly believe that the whole community will benefit from this project.”

Mrs. King stressed the importance of expanding the Emergency Department and building a new Critical Care Unit. “These are vital services that affect everyone,” she said.

Longtime advocates of community service, both have taken active roles in many other local organizations. Mrs. King has volunteered with the Calverton School, Calvert Hospice and the Leukemia Society. Mr. King has been involved with the Calvert County Lions, Calvert Marine Museum and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

“Giving back is important to us,” said Mr. King, a local business owner. “We’ve been very fortunate. We feel a responsibility to make a difference in our community.”

“My parents and grandparents were wonderful role models,” said Mrs. King. “My father always volunteered for the PTA and my mother helped at church. My grandfather served on the hospital’s first board of directors.”

The couple extend their thanks to those who have already made contributions. “The Capital Campaign has just begun and we have a way to go,” said Mr. King. “But we are very encouraged by the warm response of the people who have met and talked with us.”
