| CMH Harvest Ball is Nov. 5 at Old South
Experience the special glow of "Moonlight and Magnolias" and the incomparable elegance of the Old South Country Club in Lothian for the 18 th annual Chesapeake Harvest Ball on Saturday, Nov. 5.
Don't wait to buy your ticket. Last year's event, the most successful ever, drew over 400 guests. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser, sponsored by the Calvert Memorial Hospital Foundation, will be used to purchase special monitoring equipment for the new Intensive Care Unit opening next month at CMH.
The price is $300 per couple and includes a ticket for the jewelry raffle held at the end of the evening. Tickets can be purchased online at www.calverthospital.com or by calling the Foundation at 410-515-8178. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted.
The popular black-tie gala provides a memorable evening of fine dining, great music and dancing to Highway Star. Partygoers will sample delectable dishes from a dazzling array of food stations featuring carving, seafood, Mezze (various Mediterranean influenced vegetarian items) and decadent desserts.
"Our committee of creative and talented volunteers has been hard at work for months to make sure that this year's ball is truly exceptional, "said Kathy Dickinson, ball chair.
Highway Star brings authenticity to a wide variety of music ranging from big band to current rock to top 40. The band, which features powerful vocals and sultry horns, will play until midnight.
Also returning to this year's event will be the raffle for a fine piece of jewelry donated by Dickinson Jewelers. One winner will select a piece of fine jewelry from five items donated by Dickinson's for the Harvest Ball. The jeweler will also have other items in the silent auction that will be ongoing throughout the evening.
Other exciting changes have been made, as well. The committee has added another tented terrace for dinner seating. A live travel auction is planned during a band break. And special packages to Annapolis and Baltimore have been created for the silent auction.
A choice of nine sponsorship packages is offered including reserved seating, special recognition and an exclusive cocktail party at an Old South residence. Dickinson Jewelers and Curtis Showcase Homes are major sponsors of the ball. Curtis recently hosted a cocktail party at Old Field Inn to thank ball sponsors and to encourage newcomers to participate. |
