Trentman named to CMH board

Prince Frederick, MD (Jan. 9, 2009) - St. Leonard resident Henry Trentman has been named to the Calvert Memorial Hospital board of directors. Additionally, Kathy Dickinson of Owings has been elected president of the CMH foundation.
"Henry demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and a consensus-building style as president of our foundation," said CMH President and CEO. "His self-assurance and confidence inspires hope and enthusiasm in others."
Xinis went on to add, "He takes the longer and broader view … and understands that change is a key part of the life of an organization."
Trentman, 64, is currently retired. In 1979, he founded Recorder Books, LLC, the largest worldwide independent publisher and distributor of unabridged audiobooks on cassettes and CDs. He sold the company in 1999 and joined the CMH foundation a year later.
He is also president of the Calvert County Historical Society and chairman of the Asbury Group board. Additionally, he is a member of the Calvert County Agricultural Preservation board and an emeritus member of The Calverton School board.
Trentman also served in the Marine Corps from 1967-70. He holds a bachelor's degree from Bucknell University and is married with three children.
"Kathy is well respected by her peers and is very effective in marketing to the community," said Xinis. "Additionally, she has been active on the ball committee and contributed greatly to its success."
"She is a strong leader," he added, "and believes that raising funds is vital to promoting quality health care for our community."
She joined Dickinson Jewelers in 1988 and currently serves as operations director. Dickinson is also very involved in parent activities at The Calverton School.
Dickinson chaired the hospital's ball in 2005 and joined the CMH foundation in 2006. She co-chaired the ball in 2006 and directed marketing for the event in 2007 and last year.
She obtained her bachelor's degree in business and management from the University of Maryland. Dickinson is married and is the mother of two.
