As in all Maryland hospitals, smoking is not permitted inside Calvert Memorial Hospital. Physicians may prescribe nicotine patches or other medical assistance for patients/residents that request or require assistance to stop or limit their smoking habit.
Television service is provided free of charge. If the TV in your room is not working, please ask staff to contact plant operations department for a replacement.
Telephones are available in each room. Your friends and family may call you from outside the hospital. In consideration of your rest, incoming calls cannot be received after 9 p.m. In an emergency situation, incoming calls after 9 p.m. will be relayed from the hospital switchboard to the nurse's station on your unit. Patients may make outgoing calls at any time.
CMH rooms are "wi-fi" compatible. If you have a wireless internet device, you are welcome to use it here.
For persons with hearing, visual or language barriers, we can provide such aids as a portable TDD, television telecaption decoder or interpreter for your use while in the hospital.
