CMH Nurtures New Families
Calvert Memorial Hospital is proud to welcome “Nurturing Necessities” as an integrated part of its Family Birth Center.  Nurturing Necessities’ childbirth education and breastfeeding classes are staffed by professional labor and delivery Registered nurses.  These classes and programs are offered year-round, and many of the instructors are nurses at the CMH Family Birth Center.

A Board-certified lactation consultant is available by appointment; the center is open for drop-in baby weight checks; and a breastfeeding support group offers trouble-shooting techniques, support, education and the opportunity to form new friendships.  A shop for new parents and their babies offers breastfeeding accessories and baby items. 

Located in Huntingtown Maryland, CMH plans to bring other services previously offered at the hospital to this location, including prenatal yoga and baby care basics.  For more information, call 410-414-5414.
