Prevention and Wellness
A vital element of the CMH Cancer Program is the emphasis on public awareness, particularly the importance of cancer prevention and early detection. Throughout the past year, our Colorectal Cancer Program educated 861 residents about risk factors, symptoms, prevention and treatment. We also provided free prostate cancer screenings for 86 men. Some 293 women received free care through our Women's Wellness Program and we reached over 2,200 youth with our "Tobacco Road Show." This 50-minute interactive demonstration targets teen smoking.
