Once acute care is complete, the rehabilitation phase of any illness or injury is just as important as the initial treatment. At Calvert Memorial Hospital, our Rehabilitation Services Department offers a wide range of therapies on an inpatient and outpatient basis for all ages.
Whether you've been ill, suffered an injury, had surgery or are having difficulty speaking or swallowing, you may need our help. We can help you toward your recovery with exercise, instruction and the use of adaptive equipment.
Treatment begins with a thorough evaluation and careful, individualized planning. We provide rehabilitation for both children and adults to restore function, relieve pain, promote healing or prevent disability. Speech-language pathology and sensory integration are also offered at CMH.
Conditions which benefit from rehabilitation services include chronic and acute wounds, problems from stroke, heart attack, diabetes, cancer, hearing loss, respiratory deficits, orthopedic problems, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord and head injuries, hand injuries and other physical and congenital deficits.
Our goal is to help you achieve maximum functional independence and success at home, at work, at school and in the community.
CMH offers additional outpatient rehabilitation services through our affiliates, Calvert Physical Therapy and Chesapeake Physical Medicine. |
